Job Summary:

 

MALIN+GOETZ is adding a new position in our New York office. We are looking for an analytical minded, entry-level candidate to support our finance and accounting function. The candidate will assist our senior team in performing accounting/bookkeeping functions, analyzing and reporting on key metrics and providing financial analysis of sales, inventory and purchasing.

MALIN+GOETZ is a small but growing organization and it’s important that the candidate possess a sincere understanding and appreciation of the MALIN+GOETZ culture. As with any small business, you must be entrepreneurial-minded and willing to wear many hats to support the business where needed.

 

Job Description:

-Perform all Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and other bookkeeping functions

-Manage day-to-day work of a third party, remote bookkeeper

-Work with sales team to provide weekly and monthly analysis of product sell-through by customer and SKU

-Forecast sales by customer and SKU and work with operations department on purchasing plan

-File monthly sales tax reports

-Perform monthly bank reconciliation

-Assist with monthly close, including journal entries and reconciliation of GL accounts

-Assist with preparation of financial statements, budgeting and analysis

-Additional ad-hoc analysis as required

 

Candidate’s Profile:

-Bachelor’s degree with business administration major preferred

-Strong aptitude towards accounting/ERP systems a plus

-Experience with POS (point of sale) systems and/or Magento e-commerce platform a plus

-Advanced Excel knowledge

-Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
