Position Assistant Wholesale Manager, Full Time

Supervisor Sr. Director of Merchandising

Summary:

The Assistant Wholesale Manager serves as an integral part of the Malin+Goetz corporate team and directly contributes to the seamless flow of our direct-to-business operations. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with exemplary writing, relationship-building, and organizational skills. The Assistant Merchandising Manager executes order processing from start-to-finish and global customer service on the B-to-B level. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and a warm communications style are critical to success in this role. General Responsibilities:

  • Create export documents, including NAFTA, Commercial Invoice, and Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, for international orders as required.
  • Work directly with freight forwards and our warehouse to ensure international orders are collected and released quickly and accurately.
  • Work with Finance team to resolve customers’ payment issues as they may arise.
  • Assist in the implementation of our new UK-based warehouse.
  • Work with warehouses to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor the wholesale order queue at our warehouses and take initiative to contact each warehouse regarding any shipping delays/problems.
  • Work with warehouses to track and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with Malin+Goetz Sales and Marketing teams to ensure marketing collateral for major partners is fulfilled on time and according to partners’ instructions.
  • Maintain an awareness of wholesale customers’ individual needs and offer friendly, professional assistance and account support via email and telephone.
  • Resolve customer service inquires, including placement of orders, shipment detail questions, general merchandising inquires, etc.
  • Assist with office functions as needed, including customer services inquiries and answering general telephone line.

Qualifications:

Strong computer knowledge and skills, including proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience with Quickbooks, EDI, and Customs documents preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented,  self-motivated, and the ability to multitask in a busy office

Position Assistant Sales Manager

Supervisor East Coast Director of Sales

Summary:

The Assistant Sales Manager is an integral part of our account team providing critical support and developing an intimate understanding of Malin+Goetz business.  He or she will report directly to the East Coast Director of Sales, while partnering with Marketing, Finance and Logistics.  Moreover, he or she will be actively building and maintaining professional relationships with both internal teams and with account contacts.   Ideal candidates possess strong administrative and communication skills, thrive in a fast paced environment and possess an interest in working in a creative industry. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and update retail sales analysis and recaps (Weekly/Monthly/Seasonal sales reports, SKU sell through, promotional events, etc.)
  • Support Key account directors with sales analysis and planning (Event week goals, orders, vendor forms and other related projects)
  • Work with and support Sales Directors to develop Seasonal Sales Plans
  • Support Sales Directors to streamline reporting
  • Communicate sales plans to the field on a seasonal and monthly basis
  • Ad-hoc analysis (Retailer stock levels, launch opportunities, market reports, etc.)
  • Review basic replenishment orders with buyers
  • Communicate new product launches, discontinued products or OOS issues to accounts
  • Retailer meeting preparation (Account reviews, Marketing plans) and Recaps
  • Bi-monthly timesheet review and approval for East Coast territory
  • Manage retailer specific programs in collaboration with the Marketing team, promotional allocations by account and retail stores ; update marketing event and budget tracking sheet for all major accounts with GWPs
  • Provide key international account support, including UK/ Australia and act as point of contact with international distributors
  • Conduct first-round interviews(where possible) and reference checks for full-time sales coordinators and specialists
  • Work on Sales Force trading system to update boutique account information—sales volume, notes on the account, last order date, last visit date, last training date
  • Support communication of bonus structure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent administrative and computer skills including MS office suite, Quickbooks, company platforms, etc.
  • Resourceful, reliable, independent, innovative, multi-tasker who sees tasks and projects through to completion
  • Effective communications and organizational skills
  • Successful track record of building strong professional relationships

Summary:

Our Sr. Manager of Sales is responsible for driving and reaching our sales, service and budget goals amongst our three flagship LA retail stores and our wholesale sales through department and specialty stores.  He or she will work to develop and grow the Malin+Goetz business through team and selling staff development, training, market knowledge, and recruitment.

General Responsibilities:

Our Sr. Manager of Sales will drive sales revenue to meet or exceed plan by cultivating strong account relationships, on-the-floor sales, developing direct reports and influencing store associates.

Accounts:

  • Malin+Goetz Los Angeles Flagship Boutiques (3)
  • Priority Wholesale Doors: Barney’s, Bloomingdale’s, SpaceNK
  • Territory will include the entire West Coast and staff (team of 16)
  • Business Development/New Accounts: strategy, initiative and review of potential new accounts and opportunities

Oversee and develop all existing accounts:

  • Build strong business relationships with key retail partners
  • Design annual sales strategy by identifying strengths and weaknesses by account and formulating action plans with specific goals and timetables
  • Collaborate with marketing and education to create a training calendar to ensure basic business growth, incorporate store events and introduce new product launches
  • Champion field culture and protection of brand equity and culture at the point of sale
  • Collaborate with education, marketing, merchandising and finance/strategy departments while being the voice of the field
  • Manage collateral requests and general maintenance: Samples, testers, brochures, pharmacy bags, cheat sheets, press book and updated pages
  • Report relevant information back to office; making strategic recommendations in terms of staffing, space & location and sales
  • Work with corporate office to establish sales goals by door for the season
  • Communicate and review achievement or lack of achievement of goals to direct reports on daily/weekly/seasonal basis

Recruitment and Mentoring of Staff:

  • Aid with the selection, management and development of the sales team to execute brand strategies and meet sales and profitability targets
  • Lead our sales team to ensure focus and execution of sales growth and productivity
  • Establish best-practices and work with team to manage their time and set business priorities
  • Help to set monthly schedule for team that address the needs of all doors with the understanding of the retail calendar and holiday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of cosmetics wholesale experience with department and specialty stores.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • Strong sales leadership experience with proven results in driving sales growth.
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a large, geographically dispersed sales team.
  • Strong communication skills to represent the voice of the Field.
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility regarding work hours; ability to travel and work weekends and some holidays.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
