MALIN+GOETZ RUM HAND WASH.
Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of...soap? No, I didn't try drinking
Malin+Goetz's Rum Hand Wash. There's actually no alcohol content listed
on the bottle,; this soap is 12 percent rum eau de toilette, the
brand's signature fragrance. The scent is more perfumey than pita
colada, with notes of bergamot, plum, dark rum and leather. That's
according to the company; to my nose, its just smells good and isn't
too girly.
What I like best, though, is the texture: The clear gel glides on my
hands like a silky moisturizer, then rinses clean. No other hand soap
I've used comes close to this one's pampering feel. Nor, however, could
any of them touch the price: $20 for 8.5 ounces. That's more than my
shampoo, conditioner and body wash combined. Then again, it's also just
two mojito's at a D.C. bar. Arrr! The (hygienic) pirate in me says this
soap is worth it's weight in gold. - Angie Wu
