When was malin+goetz founded?
(MALIN+GOETZ) launched with a flagship apothecary March 1 2004 in New York's trendy Chelsea neighborhood, an e-commerce website, and limited distribution which included Barneys New York, Fred Segal, and Liberty in London. A balance of Matthew and Andrew's personal and professional experiences, (MALIN+GOETZ) is a response to modernize traditional apothecary concepts and a need to simplify complicated skincare regimens.
Who are malin+goetz?
MATTHEW MALIN began his career in the Executive Training Program at Saks Fifth Avenue in 1991. He was the Apothecary Buyer at Barneys New York before overseeing global sales and distribution at Kiehl's. After Kiehl's sale to L'Oreal, Matthew worked for two years with Prada to help develop and manage the Helmut Lang Parfums Division and License.
ANDREW GOETZ, a long-time design professional, spent the 10 years prior to MALIN+GOETZ as the Marketing Director at Vitra, a Swiss-based design Manufacturer. Andrew spent much time helping the family-operated Vitra develop and cultivate the cutting edge industrial designers and architects from around the globe that Vitra is best known to discover. His gourmet cooking skills have been featured in Food&Wine Magazine for (MALIN+GOETZ)'s "best dinner parties in Manhattan."
What is the malin+goetz concept or philosophy?
Modernizing traditional apothecary concepts, our 2-step Balancing Systems simplify regimens essential for face, body, hair, and fragrance. Synthesizing performance technologies with natural botanicals, each treatment is effective for all skin types, sensitive skin, men and women.
Explain malin+goetz "performance technology"
Step 1: Hydrating Amino Acid-based Cleansers blend gentle botanical extracts to purify, removing dirt and oil for oilier skin; never drying or striping a drier skin.
Step 2: Absorbent, Oil-Free Moisturizers blend nourishing Fatty Acids and therapeutic natural extracts rather than traditional pore-clogging oils, waxes and silicones. Providing immediate and intensive hydration to a dry skin; never leaving a residue on an oily skin.
2-step regimen for balance=Cleansers (ph level 5.5) + Moisturizers (ph level 7)
Is malin+goetz appropriate for sensitive skin?
Yes! Each ingredient and percentage is carefully chosen as the least irritating and most therapeutic for all skin types, especially sensitive. Malin suffers from Rosacea, Seborrhea, Eczema and is allergic to synthetic fragrances. We take great care to ensure that no unnecessary detergents, harsh or experimental ingredients, colorants, or synthetic fragrances are added to our gentle and effective products.
