"no two stores are identical. the wood elements here are intended to embody the pacific northwest." – matthew malin
our first location in san francisco, based in the close-knit hayes valley neighborhood, was brought to life by brooklyn-based architect andy bernheimer.
channeling the environment of the pacific northwest, this apothecary is imbued with a variety of wood elements – from the pale grey timber floors to the cross-laminated redwood timber developed for the shelving, cubbyholes and niches used to display the products. a found object serves as a sales counter in the back, where it is illuminated by light installation courtesy of brooklyn designer david weeks.
