Job Description

MALIN+GOETZ is looking for an entry level accountant to join a Vice President, Controller, and Bookkeeper in our finance/accounting department. We are looking for an analytical minded, entry-level candidate to support our growing business.  The candidate will assist our senior team in performing accounting/bookkeeping functions, analyzing and reporting on key metrics and providing financial analysis of sales, inventory and purchasing.

MALIN+GOETZ is a small but growing organization and it’s important that the candidate possess a sincere understanding and appreciation of the MALIN+GOETZ culture. As with any small business, you must be entrepreneurial-minded and willing to wear many hats to support the business where needed.

  • Perform all Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and other bookkeeping functions.
  • Manage day-to-day work of a third party, remote bookkeeper.
  • Work with sales team to provide weekly and monthly analysis of product sell-through by customer and SKU .
  • Forecast sales by customer and SKU and work with operations department on purchasing plan.
  • File monthly sales tax reports.
  • Assist with monthly close, including journal entries and reconciliation of GL accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, budgeting and analysis.
  • Additional ad-hoc analysis as required.

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with business administration major (accounting major preferred)
  • Strong aptitude towards accounting/ERP systems a plus
  • Experience with POS (point of sale) systems and/or Magento e-commerce platform a plus
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
